Hopefully I’ll cover the whole brew/bottle/analysis process on Batch 4 but for now I can report that Batch 3 came back from the chemists with an official 7.8% alcohol level. No, seriously we’re nerds and send a bottle or two off with a family friend to run through a gas chromatograph (dad wants to buy one so that he could do this from home…). Overall I think it tastes a bit sweet and the burnt toasted malt is too much on the mid pallet, but at nearly 8% who really cares. Dad just opened one and called to report that the carbonation is just right and sent the photo via email.

I expect beer this coming weekend no ifs.
That bottle you brought was yummy. Nice work. Anymore for consumption when we head your way?
